Savvis Expands UK Data Centre for Cloud Servers

Savvis expansion driven by increasing demand for Cloud infrastructure services.  It plans to meet the growing demands of European cloud computing and IT infrastructure in the UK.

Brian Klingbeil, managing director EMEA for Savvis outlines the necessity of the data centre enhancement: “Following a rise in enterprise adoption of managed hosting services in Europe, we are now experiencing increasing demand for both private and public cloud infrastructure services. Computerworld’s e-mail cloud choices

IBM LotusLive iNotes – Panasonic Corp., the Osaka, Japan-based consumer electronics giant, has moved all of its 250,000 employees worldwide to IBM’s LotusLive iNotes e-mail in the cloud and is moving employees at Sanyo.

Cisco WebEx e-mail – WebEx has a base price of about $5 per user per month, comparable to both Gmail for Business and to Exchange Online, and Cisco charges $1 per user per month for BlackBerry access.

Zoho Mail – Zoho e-mail is part of a large suite of cloud-based tools ranging from word processing and spreadsheet apps to CRM, job applicant tracking and project management systems.

Red Hat Support now in Amazon’s Cloud

Red Hat Cloud Access will let enterprises use their subscriptions to support either traditional on-premise servers or servers hosted on Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud, the company said on Tuesday.  Although, Cloud Access will only be available to customers with a minimum of 25 active premium subscriptions and have a direct support relationship with Red Hat.

Kinda lame if you ask me, that they would limit the number of people that have that.  What company pays for 25 active premium subscriptions of Red Hat at a cost of $1,299 annually?  I’ll pay for one for the support… Actually, I think I personally pay for at least 2 but still. 25?
