Rackspace to expand data center for Cloud Hosting Needs

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Rackspace announced that it will be leasing an additional 28,200 square feet of space from a subsidiary of DuPont Fabros Technology Inc. This will increase the size of Rackspace’s data center  to 65,000 square feet of space in Elk Grove Village, Ill.

This new demand for cloud hosting space is due to the large continued growth of its cloud and managed hosting businesses.   I’m sure this will be huge for customers looking for their cloud hosting needs closer to home.  I’ve heard that the closer you are to your data center the better it is for SEO and for Page Rank.  Can anyone confirm this?
