Make Money With Cloud Hosting

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

I have gotten a lot of different questions about how to make money with cloud hosting.  What do you think, how can a person make money with cloud hosting?  There is so much money being tossed around out there in the cloud hosting world.  Think about it?

BluHost pays out $90+ to affiliates to drive them a sale of $6.95/month.  They won’t even break even until year 1. Then they’ll make big bucks.  Take Rackspace, they pay out 5% for life on the server that you sell to your clients.  ReliaCloud pays out $25 for a cloud hosting signup. So there are several ways you can make money online through cloud hosting.

Other ways you can make money online through cloud hosting is to use cloud hosting for your online business.  Think about it, if you are saving money switching to the cloud, that’s like making money online right?  When you save money you can put it to other things.  Cloud hosting is a great way to save some of that extra cash that you have been spending on your dedicated server or VPS server. Making money isn’t always about spending money, it can also be about saving money. Cloud servers are a great way to save money online.

Cloud Computing Server Hardware Revenue Rise

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

The International Data Corporation, also know as the IDC has predicted that revenue for cloud computing server hardware revenue will grow. Experts have estimated spending to rise to $718 billion by 2014, up from $582 billion in 2009.

“Many IT decision makers are seriously considering cloud computing as a way to dramatically simplify their sprawling virtual and physical infrastructure,” said Katherine Broderick, research analyst, Enterprise Platforms and Datacenter Trends at IDC. Cloud server systems growth is expected to reach $5.7 billion in 2014, up from $2.6 billion in 2009, and that 44 per cent of respondents are willing to pay for a private cloud computing system.

Is cloud computing going to cost more than regular dedicated hosting in the long run? What do you think the long term costs of cloud servers will be? It’s hard to believe that cloud hosting data centers would be losing money on that.

100,000 Android Applications Submitted

Friday, July 30th, 2010

As many of you know I am an iPhone nut.  I always buy the newest Apple products the day they come out (iPad, iPhone, Magic Mouse, MacBook Pro, etc).  That being said, I usually keep up on other product gossip to. It’s just fun for me to do.  I found it amazing that AndroLib says there aren’t 100,000 applications available in the Android store. There have, however, 100,000 apps been submitted to Android Market since its public debut, the site wagered this morning, up from approximately 5,000 in June 2009.

That’s pretty amazing for a phone that hasn’t been around for very long and has HUGE competitors out there.  Last week Google shared in its latest earnings call that more than 70,000 in total in the app store that had been approved and downloaded several million times.

What does this mean for the cloud hosting world?  Well, it’s also HUGE.  Cloud applications are becoming the new craze.  People download more apps then they go to the grocery store.  Hosting these applications in a cost saving environment is extreemly important to the thousands of developers out there.  I don’t care what platform you are working on. Cloud applications is a big part of the future of phones.  Are you on board or not?
