Cloud Hosting Podcast

Monday, July 26th, 2010

NaviSite has put together a great cloud hosting podcast on Global ETM (Enterprise Technology Management).  The most recent cloud server podcast talks about defining the scope of the cloud, reviewing the differences, advantages and challenges of public and private cloud computing, and additional cloud models such as the virtual private cloud.  I listened to the whole thing and found it very interesting on the differences he finds in the public vs private cloud.

Within his podcast introduction, EMA’s Steve Brasen remarks, “Today we’ll be talking about public versus private cloud computing, certainly a hot topic and one around which there is a lot of confusion. I don’t seem to be able to pick up a trade magazine these days without seeing repeated references to cloud. According to EMA primary research, in fact, 11% of all businesses have already adopted some form of cloud services in order to achieve their business objectives. This is very fast adoption we’re seeing, for what is reasonably considered a fairly new technology.”

The cloud hosting podcast is available here.
