Host Color Cloud Hosting Now Avaliable

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Host Color announced the launch of new Cloud Hosting service plans. Host Color started working on a Cloud infrastructure back in February, 2010. I haven’t personally had a chance to check out the Host Color cloud hosting packages but I will sign up and give the official “Host Color cloud hosting review” later this week!

Host Color said in its news release that its cloud infrastrucure model creates competitive advantages for small-business owners and allows them to:

  • Manage cloud accounts with cPanel’s ‘Domain Owner Panel’
  • Use WHM ‘Root and Reseller Admin Panel’ to create and manage Reseller Cloud Hosting accounts
  • Use load-balanced IP based virtual hosting as a service part of cPanel Cloud accounts;
  • Share the resources of a large cluster of virtual machines
  • Host their websites on a Fault-Tolerant Cloud storage area network (SAN) replicated for redundancy
  • Have an ‘Archive copy’ of their Cloud hosting account
  • Save a huge amount of money on annual basis on software licenses and system administration, needed for a virtual machine maintenance
  • Host 100 or more websites on a load-balanced cluster
  • Use redundant network and premium bandwidth
  • Get their websites hosted in a secure virtual hosting environment protected by dedicated SSL certificate

“We are glad to announce the Host Color Cloud, a highly available, load-balanced IT Hosting service delivered from a fully redundant cloud infrastructure, automated for cPanel/WHM”, said Martin Andreev, a VP of Operations of Host Color LLC. “We are proud that made moving to the clouds simple and risk-free for everyone. Site owners who like cPanel/WHM can now take advantage from Cloud computing, without a need to change the way they used to manage their websites and online applications”, added Mr. Andreev.

IBM New Cloud Computing Consortium

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

IBM on Wednesday announced it was establishing a consortium with the European Union and universities to research new cloud-computing models to reduce the cost of hosting and maintaining Internet-based services.

The researchers will undertake a project called Artifact-Centric Service Interoperation (ACSI), which is based on a concept of interoperation hubs, which was introduced by IBM Research last year. These hubs provide cloud-based environments in which flexible Internet-based software and services can easily be created and deployed. Customers would pay for service integration and pay for the hosted services depending on data stored and transactions completed. Consortium partners will develop services and applications for the project, IBM said.

Using the Cloud Instead of Scaling Your Colo (Live Webinar)

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

In this live webinar on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM EDT , you’ll learn how CloudSwitch’s breakthrough software lets enterprises kick the colo habit by running applications in the cloud with the security, confidence, and management tools they rely on. Hear first hand how several how real enterprises are using CloudSwitch to deploy and run applications in the cloud for rapid development and peak-period scaling – relieving them from the headaches and costs of maintaining traditional hosting environments. In a live demonstration, you’ll see how CloudSwitch automatically creates secure connectivity into the cloud allowing cloud-based applications to remain integrated with backend systems, and learn how to host your applications in the cloud with point-and-click simplicity and no modifications.

Join us for a free webinar to learn how CloudSwitch enables you to:

  • Move hosting infrastructure into the cloud with no modifications
  • Dramatically lower operational costs
  • Automatically encrypt all network traffic and storage
  • Secure and control access to hosted applications
  • Maintain compliance with internal security standards

This webinar will take around 35 minutes with time left over for Q&A. Register now using the form to the right.
