Steadfast Networks Opens New Data Center in Chicago

Steadfast Networks announced the opening of its new Chicago data center, located at 725 S. Wells St. The new Steadfast Networks data center will accommodate the expanding demand for Chicago colocation services and Chicago web hosting services in a state-of-the-art data facility. The initial phase includes 6,000 sq. ft. of raised floor data center space and 750kW of power and is the first phase of a 4.5MW build-out at the location.

This new data center will house the new awaited for Steadfast Network cloud hosting platform.  Cloud servers will be located in all of their data centers.  The site will serve as a center for Steadfast Networks colocation hosting, Linux dedicated servers, Windows dedicated servers, and managed virtual servers.

Symform Cloud Storage Gets $4Million VC Funding

Symform closed late last night a $4 million round of venture capital financing led by Longworth Venture Partners, the startup said Wednesday. Symform is a developer of a distributed network framework for data backup and disaster recovery for small and midsize businesses.

“Symform’s unique cloud storage technology puts premium value on commodity hardware residing in millions of business locations worldwide while giving IT resellers a ‘must-have’ offering for their SMB customers,” said Longworth Venture Partners’ Nilanjana Bhowmik in a statement.

“We love Symform’s disruptive market position and we’re confident in its future success,” said Bhowmik. The startup released Symform Version 2.0 in June and expects to double its growth in 2010. Pretty good for starting in the Fall of 2009.
