Advantages Of Cloud Hosting To Business Enterprises

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

Technologies related to web are always on the path of growth. Every single technology that we see today on the internet will not remain the same in next few years. Cloud Hosting is a new technology on the internet world which is gaining much popularity.

Users of this technology claim Cloud Hosting to be a money saver for everyone. Many web hosting service providers are also stepping into providing Cloud Hosting services for the ones who request. With time, the cloud technology is getting popular and one can only expect this popularity to reach more heights in the future.

Cloud hosting offers many advantages to the business enterprises. However, before choosing this service, it is important for any business organization to analyze the needs of the company and check whether the company really needs cloud hosting. This is because, for large scale companies, dedicated web servers are still the top choice.

Most of the companies who choose cloud technology are doing it because they find it beneficial economically. Once you have decided to make use of Cloud Hosting services for your company, it is time to choose a service provider. The number of service providers is increasing on the internet and it is becoming more difficult to choose one.

Although there are many things to consider before choosing a service provider, one factor which tops the list would be the support provided by the service provider. Consider something goes wrong and your website becomes inaccessible suddenly and that too at the peak time. The support staff at the service provider has to act quickly to resolve the issue and if not addressed on time, it could cost you lots of money.

You definitely do not want to pick some service provider whose support activities are sloppy or untimely. The uptime promised by the Cloud Hosting service provider also has a great deal to do with the quality of service provided. Since Cloud Hosting technology uses multiple servers, there are little chances of downtime. However, if good quality hardware is not used by the service provider, there would be hiccups here and there.

Therefore, before choosing a Cloud Hosting service, make sure they promise maximum uptime for the website. Once you have found out about all these factors, it is time for you to look for the pricing from the service provider. Cloud hosting services are charged on a pay as you use method, but the way different companies calculate the price differs. It is important that you check whether the overall price will be reasonable when compared to the others in the industry.

There are Cloud Hosting companies which will boast about their high valued clients and impose a greater price for the service provided. Make good research in the market to distinguish between good and bad Cloud Hosting services. Cloud hosting can save you lots of money when compared to regular website hosting. However, it takes good research and proper study about the market to make the most of what is available for you.

3PAR Cloud Support Now With Red Hat Server Virtualization

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization for Servers will now be a part of 3PAR’s Cloud Support. With this announcement, 3PAR InServ Storage Server customers can choose the enterprise-class Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor to build and deploy a virtualization environment on a scale necessary for public or private cloud datacenters.

“Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization builds on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux platform, which is trusted by many organizations around the world for their mission-critical workloads,” said Navin Thadani, Senior Director, Virtualization Business at Red Hat. “Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization provides compelling performance and scalability at a lower total cost of ownership, and the portfolio is well-suited to be deployed as a foundational cloud technology.”

3PAR Stated in a press release earlier today “With this expansion of the server virtualization platforms currently supported by the 3PAR InForm Operating System, joint 3PAR and Red Hat customers are now able to leverage Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization to gain access to the following benefits of combining highly virtualized storage with server virtualization:

-- Up to 50% reduction in physical server purchases. 3PAR Utility Storage
has been shown to increase virtual server performance without
sacrificing reliability, which in some cases allows server
virtualization customers to double the number of virtual machines
configurable per physical server (also known as "VM density") without
sacrificing performance or reliability. This means that Red Hat
Enterprise Virtualization users may be able to purchase and deploy up
to 50% fewer physical servers by choosing 3PAR Utility Storage over
    traditional storage arrays.

-- Simplified administration. 3PAR Utility Storage has been shown to
reduce customer storage administration time by up to 90% in virtual
server environments. The InServ platform includes autonomic storage
management features designed to complement Red Hat Enterprise
Virtualization, such as 3PAR Autonomic Groups. Combining the
administration benefits of highly virtualized 3PAR Utility Storage
with Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization results in a leaner, more agile
datacenter that can require less time to manage and maintain than
    datacenters using traditional storage.

-- Greater cost savings. 3PAR Utility Storage arrays reduce customer
storage capacity requirements via thin technologies that break the
traditional link between allocated and purchased capacity. For
example, by leveraging 3PAR Thin Provisioning software during the
up-front provisioning of storage resources, Red Hat customers are able
to purchase and consume physical storage capacity only as needed. In
addition, 3PAR's new Get Thin Guarantee program guarantees qualifying
customers converting from existing "fat" volumes on traditional
storage to new thin volumes on 3PAR a 50% reduction in storage
capacity needed to support their Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
    deployments.

“Red Hat Enterprise Linux is an important platform for 3PAR customers,” said Craig Nunes, 3PAR Vice President of Marketing. “By combining the new Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor with 3PAR Utility Storage, we believe that service providers and other organizations building their own private clouds can get the job done on top of their existing Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment with fewer servers and less storage, in less time.”
