Trustwave joined the Cloud Security Alliance as a corporate sponsor to develop best practices for cloud computing. They will primarily help with security issues. Trustwave will work with the Cloud Security Alliance to develop best practices for implementing and monitoring security controls which protect applications and data deployed in cloud computing infrastructures.
Trustwave’s broad range of security controls, including authentication, data security, application security and security event management, will contribute to further CSA’s goals of developing and promoting security best practices for cloud computing.
“We look forward to contributing to the development of strategies that help organizations understand security best practices when implementing cloud computing,” says Robert J. McCullen, chairman and CEO of Trustwave. “It’s clear the industry is ready for this migration, but it must be done in a safe and secure manner.”
“While cloud computing is a popular topic, we’ve found that it lacks a clear definition and security standards, making it difficult to accelerate cloud adoption,” says Jim Reavis, executive director, Cloud Security Alliance. “I believe Trustwave’s security expertise will help us better define cloud computing and create a framework for which cloud adoption and implementation is secure.”
